Paraprofessional (include SPED)
Special education paraeducators assist students with special needs under the direction of a certified teacher. Paraeducators generally work in an inclusionary setting (i.e. least restrictive environment).
Special education paraeducator responsibilities include:
- Assisting the teacher in general daily classroom activities
- Helping special needs students
- Caring for special needs students’ physical and emotional health and safety
- Affirming special needs students’ abilities and strive to promote dignity in all relationships
